Great Year for Recovery In Georgia

Recently we changed our name to better reflect our mission to increase the impact of recovery in Georgia’s communities through education, advocacy, training and peer recovery support services. This impact includes:

963 Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) trained, and in 2023 we will host the first CARES Academy for the deaf and hard of hearing and finalize plans for a Spanish language CARES Academy.

RCO Development

Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) are in operation all over Georgia. This is an intentional, strategic plan implemented in partnership with DBHDD to serve people seeking and in recovery in all areas of our State.  RCOs typically are independent, community-based nonprofit entities that collaborate with community partners to educate the public and advocate for activities and services that support recovery and help individuals and families achieve wellness and recovery.

Peer Support Services

At the heart of our work is peer recovery support services, the work of connecting people living with substance use disorder to a person who has lived experience in recovery. GC4R peer support services includes CARES Warmline, NICU, Emergency Dept,AUD Program, Virtual All Recovery Meetings and more!

And the list can go on!

Georgia Council for Recovery is a sought-after national leader in recovery advocacy, education, training and peer recovery support services.  As you can see, we are having a huge impact.  As we close out 2022, we are asking that you please partner with us to provide hope and support to individuals, families and communities throughout the state. Every dollar donated goes to support recovery messaging, advocacy, and GC4R infrastructure.  Like most everyone else, we are experiencing the economic consequences of the pandemic and have had to do more with less.  Your generous contribution will help sustain our efforts as we come back stronger and even more impactful. Recovery is Real!
