ONDCP Appointments Offer Hope for Peer Led Recovery

The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse (GCSA) welcomes the appointments by Regina LaBelle, acting director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) of peers and trusted allies to key positions at ONDCP. Mario Moreno as Chief of Staff, Anne Sokolov as Associate Director of Legislative Affairs, Ariel “Air” Britt, a person in recovery, as Associate Director for Outreach, Tom Hill, a person in long term recovery, as Senior Policy Analyst, and Robert Kent as our General Counsel.

“These are strong appointments which provide hope for the recovery community. The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse is ready to work with President Biden and his team at ONDCP to best serve the over 26 million people across America in recover, said Neil Campbell, Executive Director of the GCSA.

GCSA continues to encourage President Biden to appoint people with lived experience and trusted allies of peer led recovery to positions involving Substance Use Disorder.
