Georgia Recovers Billboard Project 2021 -2022

The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse is pleased to announce that we are launching the next phase of the Georgia Recovers billboard campaign.

Working in partnership with Commissioner Judy Fitzgerald and her team at the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, GCDA will, once again, bring the message that recovery is real across Georgia in a positive and impactful manner.

This year we will highlight 16 peers in recovery from every part of Georgia reflecting the diversity of the people of Georgia and demonstrating that recovery is available for everyone in every part of Georgia.

The Georgia Recovers Campaign will consist of billboards, sharing a positive message of hope through video stories and other social projects, as well as information about where to find further recovery supports.

The inaugural Georgia campaign shattered initial projects of reaching a few hundred thousand people via billboard impressions as we reached 183 MILLION impressions statewide.

THE OBJECTIVES

· Reduce stigma associated with substance use disorder.

·Demonstrate that people recover from substance use challenges by using the face of someone in recovery from the local community in which the billboard will be placed.

·Provide information to wide range of individuals through the creation of a standard website name that will be placed on all billboards in the state.

· Create webpage to display video of each individual on billboard.

· Include on webpage links to Addiction Recovery Support Centers, the CARES Warm Line, DBHDD service locator, and other recovery resources.

GCSA looks forward to working with Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in creating and sustaining a positive campaign which will reach millions of individuals across the state of Georgia.
