A Great Year for Recovery In Georgia

Recently we changed our name to better reflect our mission to increase the impact of recovery in Georgia’s communities, and that impact includes:


963 Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) trained, and in 2023 we will host the first CARES Academy for the deaf and hard of hearing and finalize plans for a Spanish language CARES Academy.

44 Recovery Community Organizations supported throughout the state of Georgia.
14 Community Listening Sessions and 2 Recovery Symposiums hosted for nearly 1000 participants this past year.

Peer Support Services

72,000 calls and texts, including 27,259 for last fiscal year alone fielded by our Warm line.
7,123 initial peer encounters and 13,529 follow ups logged by GC4R CARES in Northeast Georgia Hospital System emergency rooms to date.
873 new mothers assisted by CARES with 5790 follow ups in Northeast Georgia Hospital System Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs).
638 individuals seeking recovery from Alcohol Use Disorder working with CARES.
37 emergency department personnel throughout Georgia received recovery focused training in 2022.
77 peers supported by CARES working in Northeast Georgia Hospital System Lumpkin County emergency department, Hall County DFACS and Family Treatment Court with 641 follow up contacts.
Twice daily virtual statewide All Recovery Meetings.
