Dear Friend:
The Georgia Council for Recovery and the Addiction Recovery Awareness Day Leadership Coalition are excited to announce that ARAD 2023 will occur IN PERSON on Tuesday 24 January. We are on track for 1,500 people in attendance – shattering our 2020 in person attendance of 1,300 people. This will be the largest event in Georgia in 2023 regarding addiction and recovery.
There will be senior government officials speaking from both the state and local governments, business leaders, faith leaders, education leaders, from across Georgia in attendance.
We are excited to share that William Cope Moyers, the vice president of public affairs and community relations for Hazelden Betty Ford, and author of Broken: My Story of Addiction and Redemption, a former journalist CNN, who lived his active addiction and found recovery here in Atlanta, Georgia will be our special guest.
Additionally, there will be a very special announcement regarding a historic, statewide, event which will occur during Recovery Month 2023.
This will also be last ARAD with Neil Campbell as the incumbent Executive Director of the Georgia Council for Recovery – you will not want to miss the special moment we honor Neil’s leadership.
Governor Kemp has served as the Keynote Speaker the past four years. We anticipate his continued leadership and participation in this important event.
I need to be direct and transparent: because of COVID-19 costs at the Depot are significantly higher. Not only is it essential we match our 2020 level of sponsorships, we need to expand our sponsors and raise a few thousand additional dollars.
PLEASE consider sponsoring ARAD 2023 at your ARAD 2020 level and, if possible, consider increasing your sponsorship. If you have not yet sponsored, please consider doing so for ARAD 2023.
Here is the link to send in your sponsorship. It is very important we secure sponsorships ASAP as we have to make initial payments for the Depot earlier this year than in the past.
Remember, all funds – 100 % – go, directly, to the event.

We know this will, literally, be the LARGEST ARAD ever. WE need your financial support to make it the BEST ARAD ever.
Your sponsorship will be seen by the largest amount of people ever gathered to advance peer led recovery in the history of Georgia and will be essential to the success of this important event.
This is our time to unite and support funding for the Georgia Recovery Community.
