Recovery Month 2021 News – Grant Application Process

Dear Georgia Recovery Partner:

The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse is pleased to announce that Georgia will celebrate Recovery Month this year. Working in partnership with our friends at DBHDD, GCSA is looking forward to a positive and powerful Recovery Month across Georgia this year.

The theme this year is: Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community

The 2021 National Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,” reminds people in recovery and those who support them that no one is alone in the journey through recovery. Everyone’s journey is different, but we are all in this together.

COVID-19 is still with us, but we have proven that recovery is stronger than COVID-19. As a result, while there while certain COVID-19 protocols will remain in place with the Georgia Recovery Month grants, we anticipate they will be less restrictive than in 2020.

In the next several days, GCSA will make public the formal grant application.  Please, pay close attention to the dates allowed this year as well as the 2021 COVID-19 protocols which have a direct impact on the grant approval process.

Recovery Month will continue to educate the people of Georgia about Substance Use Disorder and co-occurring disorders, the effectiveness of treatment and recovery services, and that recovery is real. Together, we will demonstrate that Georgia Recovers Together.

As always, GCSA is at your service with Recovery Month. Please e-mail any initial questions to Jeff Breedlove at jeff@gc4recovery.org  – together, we will make 2021 a special year for recovery in Georgia.
